{hello}

Hello, again, world!

2 blog posts in a weeks time. This might be a record.

It would seem by the lack of blog posts that our little family has fallen off the face of the planet.  I won't lie, sometimes I wonder if I have too.  Life gets BUSY.  I'm sure I don't have to tell any of you that, you're all living busy lives too.

Anyway, we're alive and functioning. As a mom, I sometimes wonder when DFACS is going to roll up because I'm the mom pulling up at the school on two wheels, wearing Christmas PJ's and rain boots, with no bra.  Yes'em, true story.  In fact, I wear my rain boots often with my PJ's in the car rider line. But, the kid makes it to school and that's all that matters, right?

Avery had his tonsils and adneoids removed and his lingual frenulum cut a little over a week ago. The little guy was pitiful!  Between an ER visit for him getting too dehydrated from not being able to drink anything, to me having finals and trying to work, to my Christmas rush at my shop, to Avery ending up with a nasty croupy cough and on steroids and breathing treatments, I may or may not have wondered if I was going to have to check myself into the pshyc ward.  But, we made it.  Little dude is on the mend, and everything else is working itself out. (Oh, and I forgot to mention that our Christmas tree died after only having it a week. True story.)

Trevor is still rocking 6th grade and has taken up playing the trumpet.  He's actually doing well with it.  We still make him practice outside though (just kidding, maybe).  He and Chris are gearing up for the new Star Wars movie this weekend, I'm sure that'll be a hit for them, and a night alone at home for me (not complaining)!

I'm hoping this week brings a bit more stability and sleep.  Maybe I'll make it through the car rider line in 'real' clothes this week....probably not, but anything could happen in this family!

Peace & Love to you all!

long time, no blogging

Wow!  It's been quite a while since I've update the ole' blog.  I hope everyone in the blog-o-phere has been well!  Instead of posting several updates, I'll just combine the last few months into one post.  So, here is the rundown of our lives since August:

{August 2014}

-Avery started kindergarten and turned 6.
-Trevor started 5th grade.
-I received my diploma for my associates degree and was accepted into the business school at GSW.

{September 2014}

-Chris and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary.
-Trevor began his first season of soccer.

{October 2014}

-I took Avery to his first college football game.
-We carved pumpkins {the kids got to design their own pumpkin faces-which they loved!}.
-Chris and I went to 3 weddings in 2 weekends.  We are blessed to have such amazing friends and were delighted to celebrate their special days with them.
-We took our little ninja and police office trick-or-treating.

The Silver Needle

Life isn't easy. (Trust me!) Sometimes the weight of the world lies right on top of your precious clavicle bones (shoulders) and it pushes down so hard you feel like you are literately carrying 100 extra pounds around. (Ask me how I know, go on, ask me!) I don't do well with stress.  I don't do well with the extra weight on my shoulders.  It's not me; it's not in my DNA.

I needed a less active form of stress release and I can't tell you how much this little embroidery machine I bought has helped my nerves.

I like having a plan.  I like itineraries.  I like list.  All of this to say, can you imagine why I'm an anxious person?  I'm a prime example of ADD.  I can't sit through movies. My mind is always circling itself.

I work.  I go to school (online).  I do Zumba and C25K. I have 2 kids.  I take pictures of families.  And now...I stitch like nobody's business.

I have to keep busy.  This little machine and I have bonded at all hours of the day and night.

We have smiled, laughed, cursed, and cried together.

I'm in love with this little machine.

 I'm in love with making cute creations for precious people.

 And want to know what's even better? This extra weight on my shoulders is getting lighter!

Sho' nuff! It's getting lighter by the day. I'm stitchin' this stressful life of mine back together! I am, I really am!

honesty

Anyone with children can relate to the after work rush (pick-up the kids, hit up the grocery store, rush home to cook dinner...) and the hustle and bustle of trying to get home at a decent hour.

Well today, the after work rush got the best of me and I left my purse, in the buggy, out in the parking lot, at Wal-Mart.

Yep, sure did!

I got half way home (15 minutes away from the store) before I realized what I had done. Panic sunk in. I was tempted to drive on the side of the road to get back to Wal-Mart faster.

My heart was racing. I pulled into Wal-Mart on two wheels. I circled the lot to where I had put our buggy, and no buggy.

They had all been collected.

I saw the parking lot guys, asked them, nope, no purse. My heart was about to jump out of my chest.

My phone, credit cards, debit card, checks, ID...my entire life on paper was in this purse.

I park the car and Avery and I rushed into the store. I waited in the line at customer service (there's always a line at customer service in Wal-Mart) and just about peed myself with nerves. Finally, it was our turn. I asked the lady and she was overjoyed to tell me my purse had been turned in.

I couldn't believe it.

She said a sweet customer had seen it in the lot and brought it in. The customer service lady said she had called the last person on my phone list (my husband) to let him know.

I was still in disbelief that my purse had been turned in. I'm so thankful for good, honest, wholesome people that are still left in this world.

So, thank you to the sweet person, at Wal-Mart, that turned in my purse!

hello world

It's been a while since I last posted. Please accept my apologies. Life happens, ya know?

Here is what has been going on with our little family:

1:: I started back school a few weeks ago. I'm taking 3 online courses and things are rockin' there. Doing everything online has changed my life! It beats a 3 hour lecture class, any day.

2:: Avery had strep throat last week. He ran a fever for 3 days and had painful headaches. Poor guy was feeling rough. He stayed so warm that he didn't even want to cuddle like he normally does. So, so, so pitiful.

3:: A Pre-K school has been decided on for Avery, and I'm still in denial that he's old enough to go to Pre-K. {He's really old enough to go to kindergarten, but with a late August birthday, I think holding him back is best.}

4:: Trevor was accepted into the gifted program at school. We are so proud of him!!!

5:: Little Rat {the Beta fish} was flushed the other night. Poor fishy was on it's last fin, and we euthanized him via the sewer method. A new fish, Kitty-Kitty, has since taken up residence in the fish tank.

6:: I've still been in a crafty mood. Yarn wreaths have swept my imagination and are now in production in my living room.

7:: I bought a monogram machine the other week. Be prepared for monogram madness and applique awesomeness to hit the blog soon!!!

 Now that you are caught up, I hope you have a marvelous Monday and an awesome week!

zumba, nothin' in the wumba

So I started Zumba this week. My neighbor invited me and I'm oh so glad she did. I've only gone once {going again tonight} and it was like going on vacation.

So refreshing, I tell ya!

Anyway, I tell Avery mommy is going to the gym {Zumba} now and he just doesn't quite get it. Of course, I try to explain that mommy's belly jiggles too much, and he ask if there is a baby in my tummy. Nope, no baby here, I explain.

{I really need to teach my child that not everyone with jiggly tummy's have babies in them. Remind me to get on that discussion soon asap. Thanks.}

If any of you know how 4 year old's work, this conversation was not over.

So we begin the discussion over why there wasn't a baby in mommy's tummy, how babies get in tummies, and how babies get out of tummies. Lord, you didn't prepare me for this.

I keep to the basics. There isn't a baby in mommy's tummy because God hasn't put one in there and the doctors cut mommy's tummy open to get the babies out.

And of course he explains to me he wants a baby brother. I explain that when God puts a baby in mommy's tummy, God decides if it's a boy or girl. He didn't really get it. So I asked if he would like a baby sister one day. He said no, just a brother. I explained again that only God decides if it's a boy or girl, and then he told me he didn't want a baby in mommy's tummy anymore.

End of story.

If mommy can't make it a boy, then he's not having it.

I think I'll just continue going to Zumba and get rid of the jiggles and worry about the womb another day, or year.

ramblin'

***You are forewarned that this is a post in which I ramble***

::I love my husband, he's my rock.

::My children make me strive to be a better person.

::We had a great weekend.

::Sometimes I want to fly off at the mouth and tell people what I really think of them-but for all sanity purposes, I bite my tongue, hard!

::I love karma only when she's good to me.

::I'm convinced that certain fabrics cause B.O. Seriously, some of these winter sweaters, no matter how much D.O. you put on, you still feel like you smell.

::I'm addicted to Grey's Anatomy and would really love a day that I could sit in my jammies all day and do nothing but watch episodes.

::Men standing around talking about sports annoys me.Yes, I like sports, but not enough to debate every play of last nights game and scratch my crotch while doing so.

::I love sautéed Brussels Sprouts.

::I start Zumba this week, so if you don't hear from me in a while, I'm either too sore to move, or dead.

::My youngest child has to poop every time we go out to eat, or every night at supper time. I believe this could be my new weight loss tool. I can't seem to get my appetite back after standing in a public bathroom, waiting on my kid to poop, and watching him touch the toilet seat with his hands. {I've tried to teach him, I really have.}

::I really couldn't think of anything else to blog about today besides writing random sentences that really had nothing to do with each other, so you're welcome!

::Happy Monday!

me, myself, and i {linky fun}

Weeeeelllll, since I haven't done a link-up in many, many, maaaaaany moons, I thought today would be a good day. This link-up allows me to tell you a little bit more about myself. So sit tight, get to know the crazy world of ME, and then link-up on your own blog and tell the world about YOU!

{1} What is your favorite season and why?

Oooo! Oooo! This is an easy peasy one! I'm not even gonna' pretend to like the other seasons, because I'm a Fall girl y'all! Loves it! It's not too hot, it's not too cold, and I tend to like to cover my Lilly white legs and extra curves. The colors of the leaves make me happy. Pumpkins, burlap, and soups in the crockpot make me smile! My sweaters and leggins are my BFF right now and I.Love.It!!!

{2} Talk about a moment that changed your life.

Lord have mercy! I can think of a million moments that have changed my life. Between the birth of my baby boy, to my first marriage, miscarriage, divorce, second marriage, death of my grandparents...the moments go on forever. However, I wouldn't have gotten through any of my "moments" in life without Jesus. In 1995, I was saved. Ever since, Jesus has walked with me through all this craziness that I call my life. Jesus and I have little pep-talks all the time, mainly in the car, and I made him pinky promise not to tell anyone any of my secrets-he's cool like that!

{3} If you could be any Crayola color, what color would you be?

If I had to choose juuuuuust one color, it would certainly be Robins Egg Blue! I love blues, especially turquoise-y blues. It's just something about the mixture of a blue that looks kinda greensih-it just does me in and I'm hooked!

{4} Describe yourself as a superhero. Name? Sidekick?

If I were a superhero, I would have the most fit body around, the ability to fly, and have endless access to money so that I could decorate my house all the time! No sidekick would be necessary, I got this!

{5} If you had all the money in the world, but could only shop at 3 stores, which ones would they be?
